Single Life
I have heard so many times, "it is great to be single, enjoy it while you can! You are so free and happy." I agree with the happy part. If you are a happy person, it doesn't matter what stage of life you are in or not in, you just are happy being alive. Most the time. But the FREE part, not true. At least, not for me. I feel like if I were married, with family, my focus would be directed and my strings wouldn't be pulled ever which way. Now, I am not complaining or saying you mothers out there have it easy. OH NO! I know it isn't easy for you, and I would have to say being single is easier. It is easy. Let's face it, a single person can, USUALLY, say, "I have had it I am picking up and moving to Bahamas." Well I guess that isn't exactly true. Even being single, I am not that free. Let me explain. I have not just 1 job, but two, and if that weren't enough I have a house I am building. And if that isn't enough I have 6 horses and a dog. So, I guess, in a way I have 7 children. But, with one special benefit, if they make me bad or get too expensive, I can just sell them. If you do that with kids you might get in trouble. So, as you can see I am not exactly free. I am sure you are reading this and thinking, if she only knew how hard it is and how busy it is and how..... But single life isn't easy. Marriage life has many benefit if you have forgotten. (Not just the legal and allowable sex). For example instead of dating several guys and trying to deal with all thier idiosynchroncies, you deal with one guy. Instead of trying to figure out if you want to go out with a guy again, you don't have that choice anymore. Instead of trying to figure out what you want for dinner, it's easy you just fix something they like. Or because I am single everyone thinks I have oh so much FREE time, not a chance,. As Relief Society President, all of a sudden I have no free time to even paint my toe nails. Guys seem to come out of the wood work and want to take you out. Even if you wanted to go out with them, you don't have any free time. Because during your free time you are sleeping or showering. A MUST!!!! I am sure Sage thinks I have abandoned her and she's is so mopy and sulky. But don't worry I find time to give her TLC. Anyway, enought of my venting, bla bla bla. What do you think?

I recently finished reading Pres. Hinkley's book "Standing for Something". He quoted Jenkins Jones "Life is like an old-time rail journey-delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
Well said I think!
Carlye Dear, unfortunatly married life isn't all it's cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong. . .love it, love Brandon, yada, yada, yada. Don't wish your life away. You should pack up and just go to the Bahamas just because you can--I'd have to check with Brandon first. And it's not easier to make dinner when you are married. You have to decide what to make for 2 people (which tends to be quite the production) and downsize the entire recipe, which can't typically be done if you are making it with 1 can of soup. What I would give to go back to Mac and Cheese and Fruity Pebbles for dinner again. . .
